Pasadena, MD—April 30, 2013—FutureCare is proud to announce that our three Progressive Pulmonary Care Programs (PCU's) -- Homewood, Irvington and Pineview-- have been recognized by the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) with the Quality Respiratory Care Recognition certificate. This certificate represents the highest level of respiratory service in a nursing home setting.
FutureCare's PCU's care for individuals with extensive medical complications including requiring assistance with breathing through the use of a ventilator or a tracheostomy tube. FutureCare's PCU is often the post-acute provider of choice for many hospitals and admit these individuals directly from the intensive care units. They are staffed by FutureCare's own respiratory therapists and our outcomes have been comparable to those achieved in similar units that are located in hospitals.
FutureCare's PCU's have been very successful weaning patients off ventilators and tracheostomy tubes with the goal of returning individuals to their normal lives. When someone walks into our PCU it feels like they are leaving the nursing home and going into a very intensive and high-quality hospital like environment. The staff is all wearing matching purple scrubs which identify them as the elite PCU staff. Our equipment is state-of-the-art and our systems provide immediate feedback in case of any change in condition.
We're very proud to have received this certification. Big Congrats to FutureCare and all our staff!
