EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT: BERT PINNING

Bert Pinning has been the Junior Accountant at FutureCare's corporate office for three years. His main duties include bank reconciliations, recording and tracking capital asset purchases, recording and correcting revenue and expense items, financial statement analysis, and managing monthly P&L trend reports. Although he doesn't get to interact with FutureCare's residents or operational employees, seeing how the work done at each facility translates into quantifiable numbers makes Bert feel connected to all of the facilities.

Bert was born and raised in South Baltimore and now lives in Canton. In 2012, he married his wife Monica, who he met while they were both students at the University of Maryland College Park. On the weekends, Bert enjoys flag football, golf, biking, camping. As a Baltimore native, he is an avid fan of the Terps, Orioles, and Ravens--in his words, "I bleed Orange and Purple!"

Bert loves working at FutureCare because it is such a comfortable and friendly environment. In his experience, everyone respects one another and the work that they do. Bert advises other FutureCare employees to take pride in their work, because caring about your job produces great results AND helps you to enjoy it. His favorite memory is the surprise party that the entire office threw for him before his wedding. At that time, Bert had only been working at FutureCare for a year and he was touched by generosity and kindness shown to him by colleagues who had known him for only a short time. Bert says that FutureCare is "about as close to a family as you can get, while still being in a professional environment."
