FutureCare Health & Management Celebrates First Anniversary of FutureCare Capital Region, a State-of-the-Art Rehabilitation & Wellness Center in Prince George's County, Maryland
LANDOVER, MD–––FutureCare Health & Management Corporation is proudly celebrating the first anniversary of the opening of its newest facility, FutureCare Capital Region. The state-of-the-art rehabilitation center in Landover, Maryland features VitalStrong Rehabilitation, FutureCare's innovative short-stay rehabilitation program. Construction on FutureCare Capital Region began in late 2016, and the facility opened its doors in April of 2018.
In celebration of its first anniversary, there will be an open house on April 16th from 4–7 PM at FutureCare Capital Region (1051 Brightseat Road, Landover, MD 20785). Event attendees will include "graduates" of the facility's rehabilitation programs, FutureCare's hospital partners, local political leaders, and other community partners, many of whom also attended the grand opening last April. All rehabilitation graduates will receive special gift bags with commemorative items highlighting the facility's one-year anniversary logo.
"We are very pleased with the success FutureCare Capital Region has had in its first year, and are so grateful to our amazing staff members who go above and beyond for our patients and their family members," stated Gary Attman, President and CEO of FutureCare. "With a holistic approach to care, innovative technology, and exceptional design, FutureCare Capital Region has raised the standards for rehabilitation facilities nationwide. We are proud to provide Prince George's County residents with this state-of-the-art rehabilitation and wellness center."
The facility has 82 spacious private rooms and 34 large semi-private rooms, with private bathrooms, showers, and oversized beds for sleeping comfort. The building has a hotel and spa-like feel, with the following features:
Spacious and light-filled entrance foyer
Beauty salon and spa
Second-level concourse patios
Two landscaped courtyards
Flat-screen TVs and WiFi interconnectivity throughout the building
Media room, library, and well-equipped meeting spaces
Two gyms, including a 4,500-square-foot rehabilitation gym
The primary rehabilitation gym is a focal point of the facility. It has the most advanced equipment available. Examples include the AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmill, a new piece of technology developed with input from NASA that allows therapists to bring a patient's body weight down to 20% on the treadmill, thereby enabling faster healing post-injury or surgery. The Biodex Balance System, which helps retrain bodies and minds for balance and core muscle engagement, is also available at FutureCare Capital Region. Other new innovations are appearing there regularly.
Services and specialty programs offered in the facility include:
VitalStrong rehabilitation therapy (physical, occupational, and speech modalities)
WalkStrong orthopedic rehabilitation
24-bed ventilator unit called the Progressive Pulmonary Care Unit (P²CU) (pulmonary assistance for residents who need ventilator and tracheostomy care and weaning)
