National Case Management Week - Tressa Painter
As we continue to celebrate National Case Management Week, we'd like to introduce you to Regional Case Manager Tressa Painter. Tressa has worked in the healthcare field for 25 years and brought her expertise to FutureCase six months ago. Tressa was drawn to case management as an ER/ICU nurse when she noticed an increase in patients who had a lack of resources when they were ready to discharge. She said, "Some ER patients were not meeting criteria to be admitted, but did not have a safe discharge plan. I lived in an area where we had major devastation from a hurricane and limited resources are far as facilities that could accept our patients for post acute care. Once I started learning how to meet their needs and how to navigate the roadblocks of insurance companies, I became hooked. The Case Management role at FutureCare allows me to focus on all of my favorite aspects of case management."
In short, Tressa's day entails problem solving in various ways. She acts as the liaison between the facilities and managed care companies, submits clinical updates to insurance companies, and works closely with patients to ensure success. Her favorite part about working at FutureCare is her peers, saying this is "hands down" the best team she's ever worked with.
Outside of FutureCare, Tressa likes to stay busy! She enjoys spending time with her daughters and her dog, going kayaking and to concerts, and cheering on her beloved Nittany Lions play football. She also likes to take various classes to learn new things and baking. Thank you for all you do for our team and our patients, Tressa! Your work is invaluable.
