National Physical Therapy Month - Urcilia Jones
October is National Physical Therapy Month – a time to celebrate the profession and all the ways physical therapists and physical therapist assistants help improve lives across the country. Physical Therapy (PT) is provided by physical therapists who promote, maintain, and/or restore health and can have a profound effect on people's lives. At FutureCare, we are proud to support patients and residents in recovery through our various physical therapy programs.
To honor the month, we'd like to introduce you to Urcilia Jones, PTA and Assistant Director at Charles Village. Urcilia has been with FutureCare for 22 years and was motivated to become a physical therapist after her grandmother had a total knee replacement and raved to Urcilia about her PT who helped her walk again. The day-to-day duties at Charles Village keeps her on her toes – reviewing charts, scheduling rehab sessions, performing physical therapy activities with the clients, and conducting caregiver training when a client is nearing discharge. She says she really enjoys working with geriatric clients as they "share the best stories and wisdom."
Outside of work, Urcilia stays busy! She is very active in her church and community. She also enjoys spending time with her friends and family, watching movies, fishing, gardening, and going to concerts.
Thank you, Urcilia, for all you do for our residents and patients, and for the Charles Village community!
